Girls Night and New Job!

It is almost Hump Day……which means it is almost the weekend…which means it is almost HALLOWEEN!!!!!

I am so stoked. Yet I still need to find some white leggings and a white button down dress shirt/dress for my costume….bwahahaha cannot wait to dress up as Alex from A Clockwork Orange! I already have the hat, cane, eyelashes and eye makeup :)

So to catch you all up on the Life of Lo, I will have to rewind Grandfather Clock and go back in time….back to when most of you were dreading to go into work….back to Monday morning :)

This was a very spesh morning because for the first time in months I fixed OATS! Yup, I did. Now I have loved oat bran 4eva, and decided on getting back to my oat roots….I used to live off of oatmeal, until I met Oat Bran….after this morning’s bowl though, I must say I still love the bran. Its too bad I bought a 32 serving size bucket of Oats last weekend FML….oatmeal cookies anyone? haha. :)

With Matt Lauer and my glass of Gangsta Fruit Juice, my oats were:

1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup light WestSoy milk
1 banana
cinnamon
Crunchy Peanut Butter and Crunchy barney Butter
raspberry Jam (HFCS Smucker’s kind)

Although it was tasty, I think I need more oat practice, because I have made wayyyy better. I am thinking savory oats for lunch soon?

After a glorious workout–20 minute run, 15 minute incline walk and 35 minute elliptical session, burning almost 700 cals (whoa Polar HRM) and dripping with sweat/my bangs were glued to my forehead, I appropraitely showered and made a satisfying lunch.

Meatball Submarine!!! Well, close to a meatball sub…

Flatout Wrap
4 veggie balls (Costco)
1/2 cup pasta sauce
banana peppers
sprinkles of Parmesan

I also added a side salad for my Italiano meal :) It had lettuce, tomatoes, shrooms, olives, Sabra pine nut hummus and a drizzle of Annie’s Lite Honey Mustard dressing.

This lunch was fantastic….but fugly to photograph :) The most important thing though? It kept me full for 7 hours until girl’s night out!

The rest of the afternoon I applied to more jobs, wrote a paper and lounged like a lizard. Do Monday’s ever feel like Sundays? Maybe its just those jobless, like moi, that feel this way :)

So, since I was just lounging around, I called Casey and asked if she wanted to move our Tuesday night out to Monday!

sidenote: Now to catch you all up on this new friend that has entered my blog recently…..Casey and I have actually known each other since our Junior Year of college. But we recently started hanging out again, because we realized it was silly we were always too “busy.” You know what I mean, when friends fall out because of busy schedules? This is so silly! We must all try harder at friendships I think :)

After debating on dining choices, we agreed to try a restaurant called Big Bowl. Casey had a gift card and its pretty obvious I have a love for any kind of deals, so I was down.

Big Bowl is a Asian-Americanized place, that has Chinese and Thai food.

I began with a Pomegranite Ginger Ale!! They make their own ginger ales in house. This was super yummy. So crisp and fizzy :) I moved on to Diet Coke afterward because I couldn’t afford the refill….I hate when you can’t get free refills sometimes….

For appetizers, we split the Combo pot stickers and the Spicy Peanut Noodles.

It came with 2 veggie and 3 chicken with 3 sauces. I had 1 vegetable potsticker and Casey had the 4 others. I dominated the sauces though :)

The peanut noodles, were served cold and they were soooo yummy! It had an almost “pad-thai” taste to it. We split this up evenly and I doused mine in the Red Chili Fiery sauce that I specially requested.

(potsticker is located in left corner, and see that red sauce? Oh yes it was indeed the spicy Red Pepper Flake stuff I awkwardly requested)

We decided on splitting an entree because portions are way to big for one person. But for two? No problem finishing our plates. We ordered the Red Hot Pepper Chicken Noodles.

Casey ate the chicken portion of the bowl. I stuck to the noodles, veggies, and peanuts…hmmm. this was gone in 10 minutes flat. No joke.

Dessert? Sure! Why not order a slice of Ginger Spice Cake with a peanut butter filling and White Chocolate Mousse :) Um. The picture does not even do it justice. Delightful.
After dinner, we wandered about Blockbuster, where I purchased 2 new movies to add to my ridiculous collection and then headed to her amazing apartment to watch “The Last House On The Left.”

After falling asleep on her couch, and waking up in my clothes (2nd time this week ya’ll for couch crashing!) we awoke at noon! Whoa! How did that happen? We quickly got dressed and decided a Whole Foods trip was in order for lunch. Too bad I can’t go in there without shelling out $$ on pumpkin butter!!! and Spooky Smores Z Bars!!!! worth it. and totally necessary.

Lunch was Brown Rice Veggie Sushi with a Blueberry Odwalla smoothie. So much protein in this meal!

P.S. that juice is awesome! I would give Odwalla a “Facebook Like” fo sho.

I-Phone Shot….blogger fail.

I brought some new groceries home, changed and went to the gym for 35 minutes run/walk. I did 25 minutes running and 10 min walking. It was speedy because I had class at 5! EEK, I made it on time though! I am rocking being on time these days (knocks on wood)

For class, I packed an apple, Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Cliff bar…..

and, a PUMPKIN PROTEIN Odwalla Drink!!!

This is in the “higher-calorie” line of Odwalla drinks, because of the protein, fats, and amazing nutritional stats. Its pretty much a meal in drink form and it was amazing. It tasted like a pumpkin chai smoothie :) I didn’t have time to grab anything else during class, but this held me over dandy until class was dismissed at 9PM.

After class I walked (in the rain joyfully) to a local restaurant where Casey works and chatted with her for awhile. Her manager comes by and we chat, and then….

I GET HIRED!

It was random and its part time to full time hosting, but honestly I don’t care. I need some mone right now, and I have been out of a job for 2 weeks. While I am looking for serving jobs, this hosting for 10 bucks an hour will be perf! I train tomorrow from 11-3 :) Easy Peasy!

Such a busy two days! Tomorrow will be even more packed!

Gym
School Work
Work
Blogger meet-up dinner
Pumpkin carving!!!

Off to catch up on your lives and finish watching Gossip Girl!

Oh and possibly dig into crackers and hummus…. Oh wait, just did! I am just channeling my inner twin!

See ya’ll tomorrow chicas and chicos!

xoxo,

Lo
